Does Company Dental insurance cover cosmetic treatment?

No – Employees can only claim for treatment which is clinically necessary. Cosmetic treatment, however, (such as teeth whitening) can be covered under some Company Health Cash Plans.

Does Company Dental insurance cover pre-existing conditions?

Yes – most insurers will cover pre-existing dental conditions and there is no oral health check or medical to join the plan.

Is dental insurance covered with our company Private Medical Insurance?

Some Private Medical Insurance providers do offer cover for dental, but this will often need to be selected as an additional cover module at employer level.

Also, dental cover which is provided as part of a Health Insurance scheme isn’t usually as comprehensive as a standalone dental plan, and typically operates by providing a low level of cash back, as opposed to full dental coverage.

This level covers an examination, diagnosis and advice.  It also includes X-rays, a scale and polish and planning for further treatment.

Band 2 – £62.10

This level covers all treatment in Band 1, plus additional treatment such as fillings, root canal treatment and tooth extractions.
 

Band 3 – £269.30

This level covers all treatment included in Bands 1 and 2, plus more complex procedures such as crowns, dentures and bridges.
